RAJASTHAN Itinerary

LAND OF THE MAJESTIC KINGS

DAY 1: ARRIVAL INTO DELHI

CHECK-IN DAY


One of our representatives will meet & greet you at the International Airport and will transfer you to your hotel accommodation for an overnight stay. Look out for a sign showing VECTOURING EVOLUTION or your NAME. Further instructions will be given on your arrival at the Hotel. We will get together at a nominated time to meet and greet the rest of the group, enjoy a welcome dinner and briefing for the next day.


DAY 2: DELHI – MANDAWA

DISTANCE: 260km, TIME: 6 hours, MEALS: B/L/D


After breakfast we’ll take a private vehicle and head West, where we will eventually check into a Haveli, now converted into a  Heritage Hotel.  After lunch, and short briefing you will be introduced to your Royal Enfield Motorcycle, and we'll venture out for an afternoon ride to get acquainted with your bike and explore the local village surroundings.


DAY 3: MANDAWA - BIKANER

DISTANCE: 190km, TIME: 4 hours, MEALS: B/L/D


After breakfast we’ll ride further west, and land in Bikaner which is surrounded by the Thar desert. We’ll visit the richly ornate 16th Century Junagarh Fort, and if time permits, ride out to the local Rat Temple.  Yes! That’s right, a temple where rats are worshipped.


DAY 4: BIKANER - JAISALMER

DISTANCE: 330km, TIME: 7 hours, MEALS: B/L/D

We’ll ride further west again, along the highway to a former medieval trading centre, distinguished by the yellow sandstone architecture it is known as the Golden City and located in the heart of the Thar Desert.  Jaisalmer Fort sits approximately 80m high on top of a hill. With its impregnable city walls, this desert fortress, is surrounded by almost 100 bastions, and what once was the palatial houses of merchants and princes, is now a bustling mecca of mazed alleyways housing intricately carved Jain Temples, the ornate Maharaja’s Palace, and a variety of merchant bazaars, specialty shops, restaurants & cafes.


DAY 5: JAISALMER

MEALS: B/D

After breakfast, we’ll explore the old town of Jaisalmer and head to the Patwon Ki Haveli, in the heart of town. This is virtually the showpiece of Jaisalmer’s legendary architectural richness and will give you a glimpse of the historical way of life back in the day. We’ll later head to the only ‘Living Fort’ (residential) in India and you’ll be amazed at what is within this desert Fortress. You will have the opportunity at your leisure to wander and explore the intricately carved 12th – 15th Century Jain Temples, the ornate Maharaja’s Palace, and a variety of merchant bazaars, specialty shops, restaurants & cafes, all situated with in the narrow maze-like streets and Fort Walls, all before we reunite for dinner.

DAY 6: JAISALMER – THAR DESERT CAMP

DISTANCE: 100km TIME: 2-4 hours MEALS: B/L/D

After breakfast we’ll continue further west via the military roads and head to the remote Sand Oasis. We’ll stop for lunch, and play in one of the world’s largest sand pits for a short while before continuing on to our next overnight stop. On our arrival we’ll check in to our accommodation and head out for an evening ride on the classic ships (camels) of the desert. We’ll head back to camp for dinner after watching the mesmerising sunset over the endless dunes.


DAY 7: THAR DESERT CAMP - JODHPUR

DISTANCE: 370km TIME: 7 hours MEALS: B/L/D

With an early morning start, we’ll head south east toward the ‘Blue City’ of Brahmins. Jodhpur is the second largest city, and is one the most wonderful cities in Rajasthan, a true living museum of this colourful state. In the evening, we’ll have time to stroll around town, which is an absolute gem for photographers – charming faces and exquisite architecture should keep one and all visually delighted.


DAY 8: JODHPUR - GHANERAO

DISTANCE: 160km TIME: 4 hours MEALS: B/L/D

Before heading to the ancient Marwar kingdom, we will visit some must-see highlights of Jodhpur.  Prepare to be enthralled by the historical Mehrangarh Fort and the splendid Umaid Bhawan Palace.  A sub tropical change of scenery as we reach the quaint village of Ghanerao.


DAY 9: GHANERAO - UDAIPUR

DISTANCE: 170km TIME: 5 hours MEALS: B/L/D

We ride to the famous white Jain temple at Ranakpur  known for pilgrimages of one of Indias’ major religions,  Jainism.  Next, we’ll negotiate the small hills of the Aravalli Mountains to reach Udaipur, the ancient capital of the Marwari region, built around Pichola Lake.  As an oasis, Udaipur is known for its dense forest and lakes as well as for its lush green surroundings.   Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.


DAY 10: UDAIPUR - JOJAWAR

DISTANCE: 160km TIME: 7 hours MEALS: B/L/D

We ride our Royal Enfields towards Khumbalagarh fort, a world heritage site which is surrounded by the second longest wall in the world, after the Great Wall of China. After the visit of Kumbalghar fort, we head to Jojawar in the North, negotiating the Aravalli Mountains to reach the wide semi-arid plains of the Marwari region. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.


DAY 11: JOJAWAR - PUSHKAR

DISTANCE: 180km TIME: 5 hours MEALS: B/L/D

Pushkar is our next overnight stop.  It is a small, but very important pilgrimage site for Hindus.  This town has the only temple dedicated to Brahma (creator of the universe and Vedas).  It is one of the oldest existing cities of India and although the date of its actual origin is unknown, legend associates Lord Brahma with its creation.  Pushkar is also famous for its annual camel fair held in November.  Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

DAY 12: PUSHKAR - JAIPUR

DISTANCE: 190km TIME: 6 hours MEALS: B/L/D

Todays’ ride takes us to Jaipur, the “Pink City”. This City of Victory was the 3rd capital of Mogul Empire and is the capital of Rajasthan. It is impossible to think of Jaipur without its most precious jewel, the Amber Fort. You will have the afternoon free to explore a little. As one of the wealthiest cities of Historic India, today Jaipur is a beautiful and vibrant fusion of modern times and ancient Indian culture and gives a true picture of the princely state of Rajasthan. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.


DAY 13: JAIPUR - RANTHAMBORE

DISTANCE: 150km TIME: 4 hours MEALS: B/L/D

We pay the Amber fort a visit and then ride north of Jaipur before taking backroads to the countryside fort of Kesroli near the Alwar district. From here we go on to Ranthambore National Park. Once a princely game reserve, this is where celebrated Indian tigers are best seen in their natural splendour. Ranthambore Tiger Reserve lies on the junction of Aravalli and Vindhyas in Eastern Rajasthan. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

DAY 14: RANTHAMBORE - AGRA

DISTANCE: 260km TIME: 6 hours MEALS: B/L/D

This, alas, is the last ride of the tour. We’ll have lunch in a local restaurant and continue on to Agra. By afternoon, we’ll visit the legendary Taj Mahal, Indo-Mughal architectural marvel and 7th wonder of the world. We highly recommend an evening visit to the white lotus monument to enjoy the sunset. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.


DAY 15: AGRA - DELHI

DISTANCE: 230km TIME: 6 hours MEALS: B/L/D

On this last day of your trip, we'll return to the hustle and bustle of Delhi in a private vehicle. We rest/shower at the hotel and in the afternoon we can enjoy the streets of Old Delhi once more. In the evening you will be transferred to the Indira Gandhi International Airport from whence you’ll journey to your onward destination. We hope that you enjoyed the motorcycle journey with us in the country of Maharajas.

Important Information

You must land in Delhi before 4pm on the 20th October

  • You will be responsible to obtain your own VISA, travel insurance, and flights. 

  • Airport transfers are included, if you arrive on the 19th or 20th of October.  Once we know your arrival details, we'll pick up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel.  We can lead you in the right direction, if you need any help with acquiring a VISA.  READ READ READ your travel insurance policy, as not all insurances will cover motorcycles.

  • Motorcycle Hire and all fuel is included, but a US$300 deposit will be collected, prior to departure. You will receive this 

  • The itinerary will show all included meals on a day to day basis.
